Q: Best Elder Scrolls Online character build

This is a very vague question so it’s hard to provide an exact answer. I’ll go with basics.

As with most MMORPGs, ESO has three main roles or class archetypes: DPS (damage dealing), Tanking (holding monsters so they don’t attack others), and Healing (supporting an keeping others alive).

Elder Scrolls Online has 4 different classes, and allows every one of those to be good at any of the roles.

For damage dealing Sorcerer is best class, for tanking Dragonknights, and for healing Templars. Sounds like Nightblades aren’t good at anything when I say it like that, but they are second best DPS and tanks in my opinion.

Best character build depends on which class you pick, and which role you want to play as.

I’d recommend you to check out each of my class guides (Dragonknight, Templar, Sorcerer, Nightblade) and read as much as you can about every class. Once you’ve decided on your play style, you can further find which build to go for as it greatly depends on how you want to play the game.
